Plant Basics and More Empty Plant Basics and More

The basic idea of photosynthesis is typically common knowledge and most people could identify a leaf without too much problem. However, not everyone will know what a rhizome is or a bulbil. Plants like air plants or stonecrops may not be as straight-forward as we are used to. Some plants clone themselves in many inventive ways. Other plants produce flowers, but never any seeds. Then other plants, like the Venus Flytrap, catch and consume live prey.

Determining what makes a plant a plant may not be so cut and dry. Plants have unique cell structures, other parts than leaf, stem, and root, and some can respond to stimuli in as little as a fraction of a second. When you think you have a plant figured out, you'll come across a species that does something a little different.
